Cool Finds: Steven Seagal Wax Figure

This article marks the first of our “Cool Finds” series, where we share some of the interesting, unusual, or even just-plain-weird items that have passed through the doors of our store.

The Hollywood Wax Museum made history in May of 2009 when they auctioned off around 200 of their wax figures through the auction house, Profiles in History, known for dealing in Hollywood memorabilia. Did you ever wonder what happened to some of those figures in the years following? Well, we know a guy.

Steven Seagal, known for his movies Hard to Kill, Under Siege, and Above the Law, among many others, currently resides in our retail store in Centerville, Indiana. Once you get past his stoic demeanor and hard, cold exterior, you’ll see he’s not actually Steven Seagal, but his wax figure. When he first arrived at our store, he was accompanied by Danny DeVito and Michael Douglas in their Romancing the Stone characters’ outfits, but they have since found new homes.

Dressed in his signature leather jacket, Wax Steven guards our store and serves as an underperforming greeter while he awaits his new home. When he isn’t shirking his greeting duties, he quite frequently spooks visitors and stares vacantly into space. Unfortunately, Steven Seagal’s wax figure did not accept my request for an interview.
